Kitchens – more than any other room in a home – come with a serious boatload of accessories. Every inch of every cabinet is typically full, and most surfaces are home to some type of tool. That being said, I always find it fabulous when homeowners discover a way to keep their cooking spaces clean and cool even amongst the chaos of daily life. In honor of those families who have nailed it, we are rounding up 10 of our favorite, well-organized kitchens. Whether their accessories are gathered by color or function, style or by need, each proves how living with all the fixings can be as stylish as it is functional. Enjoy!
The first question you might have after reading the title of this post is: “What is a classic kitchen?” I thought a lot about what makes a kitchen classic as I was looking through our sneak peek archives. And, for me, a classic kitchen is one that is timeless. And so unsurprisingly, many of these kitchen are white (and if they are not white, they are a subtle gray). After all, a white kitchen is pretty timeless. It feels clean (which is how you want your kitchen to feel), yet it also feels unfussy and subtle. But the best thing about a white, classic kitchen is how the look of the kitchen can be transformed by changing small details. So we have some “classic” kitchens that feel a little country, some that feel city, some that feel poppy and some that feel subdued – and that’s what makes the classic white kitchen so great. It can really change with you.
Eventually deVOL will be opening up the rest of the townhouse to customers, too. Although the upstairs rooms aren’t decorated yet, the showroom team is happy to take visitors up to the roof garden for a look over London. “We have a long way to go with the house but it’s exciting for me, I have a whole East End house to decorate and style, so my head is full of ideas every minute of every day,” Helen shares.
