I don’t know about you, but there’s nothing quite as satisfying as witnessing a real, good kitchen renovation. Whether it’s on a cheesy daytime home and garden show or an in-person tour at a friend’s house, a brand-spankin’-new kitchen has the ability to give me chills and send my heart beating in envy. Self-closing drawers, you say? Ohhhh. Custom cabinetry? Shut up right now. Marble countertops? Let me just run my hands across them—that’s not creepy, right? If a fancy-shmancy new kitchen does it for you like it does for me, you’re quite in luck! Today, we’ve hand-picked 15 of some of our favorite, most awe-inspiring kitchen transformations from our Before & After archives—all for your viewing pleasure! May they excite you, thrill you and inspire your own kitchen renovation projects!
Sometimes the best design ideas come in the smallest of packages. And for me, that tiny design wonder is Megan Pflug’s incredible antique sink. She unveiled her mini kitchen makeover earlier this year, but I’ve found myself going back to this one room over and over again for inspiration and ideas. Not only has she inspired me to consider accordion sconces for our kitchen, but she’s made me want to spend hours digging around eBay and other sites to try to find a stunning little sink like this one (paired with that cute checked skirt? perfect). If you need a little makeover inspiration and want to see how her amazing kitchen came together, click here to check it all out online. Until Monday, I hope you all have a wonderful and restful weekend. xo, grace
Thanks to the instant success of deVOL’s first London shop just half a mile away, it had quickly become clear that one showroom couldn’t keep up with the amount of customers waiting for design appointments. Because of the high demand for beautiful kitchens, it wasn’t long before deVOL took the plunge and bought the entire building in St. John’s Square, with the intention to bring it back to its former glory. “As we explored not only the shop but the house above, we just thought it would be a fantastic place to display our kitchens and all the other amazing stuff we make and sell. From the derelict basement right up four stories to the roof garden with views of this historic square and beyond to St.Pauls, it was just an untouched, original property full of charm, character and history,” says Helen Parker, Creative Director at deVOL.
