It’s always a treat to see complete kitchen makeovers, the kind where everything gets gutted and the “after” is a total surprise. Luckily, we have two of those today, so get ready for some fun reveals. Julie’s new kitchen is dreamy in so many ways. I particularly love the tile, but the floating shelving, modern island with barstools and warm wood with white aren’t too shabby, either. Amazing transformation, Julie!
The favorite thing about my home: I love that I get to use all of it even though it is quite a large flat. The top room where I have the kitchen, dining room and study is where I spend most of my day working. My bedroom is where I sleep and laze in the morning and my drawing room doubles up into a home cinema (except that I have broken my projector but I will be buying one soon) and it is where I spend my evenings when I am not out with friends. And when I have friends over, we have a drink in the drawing room before moving upstairs for the meal.
Kitchen islands can offer everything we want from our modern day kitchens, from generous counter space and storage to seating for family members or guests who want to join the fun. They also give us more opportunities to be creative with our kitchen designs. These 10 great kitchen islands all add something special to their respective spaces and prove that options for creating unique focal points are endless. They do have one thing in common though — they truly make these kitchens feel like the heart of the home.
